What the Tribunal does

The Tribunal is responsible for reviewing and hearing applications related to the following matters:

• Evaluation of treatment authorities.

• Creation or reassessment of forensic orders or treatment support orders.

• Assessment of fitness for trial for specific individuals.

• Detention of minors in high-security facilities.

• Applications for examination authorities.

• Requests for the approval of regulated treatments, including electroconvulsive
therapy and non-ablative neurosurgery.

• Applications to transfer specific patients in and out of Queensland.

Additionally, the Tribunal addresses appeals against certain decisions made by the Chief Psychiatrist and AMHS administrators.
